About us
Wing Park Motors is a proud family-run business with roots dating back to 1952. Founded by Walter Wodey, the company was built with quality workmanship serving the local community. Over the decades, the business was passed down to his son, Wally, who continued to grow the reputation that Walter had worked so hard to establish.
Today, Wing Park Motors is run by Walter’s great-grandson, Blake, who carries forward the same family values that have guided the company for more than 70 years. While the automotive world has changed, our commitment to trust and personal service has remained the same. As a family business spanning four generations, we take pride in serving our local community
Our services
Servicing
Regular servicing is essential to keep your vehicle reliable and running smoothly. Throughout the year, small issues can develop without you noticing straight away. These can range from suspension wear, minor oil leaks, or brake components seizing. If left unchecked, these small problems can turn into costly repairs. By servicing your car regularly, issues can be resolved early, saving money on repairs.
EV & Hybrid Servicing
As electric and hybrid vehicles are becoming an increasingly popular option for road users, it’s important to pick a workshop that is equipped to carry out all the necessary repairs. Although they require less maintenance than a traditional petrol or diesel, they still need regular servicing to stay reliable. We are proud to now be offering EV & Hybrid servicing and repairs, saving you on dealer prices.
Brakes
Your car’s brakes play a vital role in the car stopping quickly and efficiently when needed. This makes it important to keep them maintained, and also prevents uneven wear. Having brakes checked during your yearly service can identify problems so they can be cleaned, adjusted or replaced when necessary. Having the brake fluid replaced is also important at recommended intervals.
Tyres
Tyres are a critical safety aspect as they are the only part of the car in contact with the road surface. This makes it crucial to make sure they are inflated properly and that they have enough tread with no cuts or bulges. The legal tread depth is 1.6mm across the central 75% of the tyre. We supply and fit tyres of all different brands and sizes.
Wheel Alignment
Ensuring your wheel alignment is correct is important for the longevity of your tyres and the handling of the vehicle. If incorrect, this can cause uneven tyre wear and cause the vehicle to pull to one side. If your vehicle has had suspension work completed or has uneven tyre wear, it is important to get the alignment checked and adjusted.
Wet Belts
If your vehicle is fitted with a wet belt, replacing this at the correct intervals is crucial to prevent costly engine damage. These belts are commonly found in Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, and Vauxhall. These belts are prone to perishing earlier than the recommended intervals, making inspection critical. They can also block up the engine with belt debris, causing oil pressure problems.
Timing Belts
The timing belt keeps your valves and pistons moving in sync. If the belt breaks, it can cause the pistons to hit the valves, causing costly engine damage. It is important to replace them at the recommended manufacturer intervals. These can range from anywhere between 5 to 10 years. Regular replacement protects your engine whilst also giving you peace of mind.
Air Conditioning
A car’s air conditioning system keeps you cool and comfortable on hot summer days and also demists the windows during the winter, making it essential to regularly service. These systems are recommended to be serviced every 2 years, with new oil added each time. Overtime, refrigerant can leak due to small leaks, and components may wear, causing reduced performance.
Clutches
The clutch on your car is important for smooth stopping, starting, and easy gear changes. If you experience clutch slip whilst driving, it may become difficult to drive, and the engine may rev under heavy load. A soft clutch pedal can indicate hydraulic failure or a fluid leak, requiring professional investigation and repair.
Diagnostics
Modern vehicles are now controlled by electronic systems, so they require advanced diagnostics to identify faults within the systems. When your car has a warning light on, it is critical not to ignore it and identify what is at fault as soon as possible. A proper diagnosis is key to getting a first-time fix.
What our happy clients say
Posted on Lois Hillier Absolutely top quality service from the team. I left the house this morning realising we must have had a puncture. I drove round to wing motors only living locally and they without hesitation said they could help. I got a call a couple hours later informing me a tyre replacement was needed and they could do it that afternoon! The cost was as expected and I had my car back by 3pm. I can’t thank them enough as I have a very important journey to do tomorrow and would have been in a very difficult position had it not been for the speedy response of the team. I will not hesitate to recommend you or use your services again!Posted on Daniel Fox Always a good job. Great communication throughout and doesn’t charge the earth.
